These come in kits for:

• Personal/Home/Office or Over-The-Counter (OTC) test kits - these are available to be bought by anyone without the need for special training to administer them. These kits typically show results in 15-30 minutes and are easy to use. They come with all the necessary items to extract the sample and produce a result.
• Clinical Laboratory or Point-of-Care (POC) test kits - these are only available for sites that have a Clinical Lbaoratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waiver from the FDA and must be administered by a site that has trained professionals to administer these tests

All of the tests available today do NOT have full FDA approval - they have an Emergency Use Authorization Letter (EUA), issued by the FDA.

Rapid Antigen Covid-19 tests most often use a nasopharyngeal (nose) swab, a vial of reagent (test solution), and a test strip which shows the results.
